Spicy Pineapple Margarita

The first weekend that I was trying to stay alcohol-free, I needed something to drink while cooking. The first ever mocktail I created was a Spicy Pineapple Margarita. I just used the ingredients I had at home: jalapeño, pineapple juice, lime juice, simple syrup, and tajin. It scratched the itch and I thought I could have fun with this! I then went and explored spirit alternatives and @ritualzeroproof ‘s Tequila Alternative was the first one I tried that was good. A few weeks later, with a ton of recipes in my Notes app, I started Mocktail Wiz.

I can’t believe that it has been more than 2 years since I started this account. I just wanted to share my recipes but since I started, I’ve met so many great people and became friends with a lot of you online and IRL. I’m so happy with this community and I am so grateful to everyone who’s been with me. Thank you so so much.

I feared that my life would be boring after I stopped drinking and it’s been the exact opposite of boring and for that I am so grateful. Cheers to more mocktails and more fun times!!!

Ingredients:

  • Tajin for the rim

  • 2 slices jalapeño

  • 1 oz lime juice

  • 2 oz Tequila Alternative (I used @ritualzeroproof )

  • 1 oz Orange Simple Syrup or regular Simple Syrup

  • 2 oz Pineapple Juice

  • Dried Pineapple Slice for garnish (I used @cocktailgarnishco)

Instructions:

  1. Rim your glass with tajin.

  2. Muddle jalapeno slices and lime juice.

  3. Add tequila alternative, simple syrup, and pineapple juice.

  4. Add ice and shake for 10-22 seconds.

  5. Strain into the tajin-rimmed glass with fresh ice.
