This is the non-alcoholic version of Anders Erickson’s old fashioned recipe (I’m a big fan!). I like the addition of the orange slice, not to muddle but just to subtly get its flavor while stirring. I used non-alcoholic aromatic bitters from allthebitter.com which I tend to use a lot. Use it in mocktails like this or in regular cocktails. I also used Spiritless’ non-alcoholic bourbon whiskey. It turned out quite nice!

Ingredients:

• Orange slice
• 4 dashes Non-Alc Aromatic Bitters (discount code: MOCKTAILWIZ10)
• 0.25-0.5 oz Demerara Syrup
• 2 oz Non-Alc Whiskey
• Orange peel and cherry for garnish

Instructions:

1. In a mixing glass, add orange slice, aromatic bitters, demerara syrup, non-alcoholic whiskey
2. Add ice and stir until the outside of the mixing glass starts to get a little frosty
3. Strain into a rock glass with a big cube of ice
4. Express the oil of an orange twist over the glass
5. Garnish with a spear of orange peel and cherry
