Mulled White Wine

My alcohol-free journey started with a 30-day experiment. To me, removing alcohol for 30 days seemed challenging but doable. In the early days, mocktails helped me get through tasks during which I usually drink. Giesen 0% wines are a delicious, versatile choice that I enjoy on their own or sometimes use in my mocktails, just like this mulled white wine that is packed with flavors and is so soothing. It is the perfect drink for a quiet night in. Having these replacements worked for me and I felt great after the 30-day experiment so I just kept going! Now I am over a year and half alcohol free and I’m using this same approach in other areas of my life that I want to improve. Like reading a book instead of watching TV. Serves 2.

Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle of @giesenwines 0% Sauvignon Blanc
  • 3 tbsp monkfruit sweetener or regular sugar 
  • 2 oz Rum alternative 
  • 8 whole cloves 
  • 3 pieces star anise 
  • 3 cinnamon sticks 
  • 1 whole orange, sliced into wheels 

Instructions: 

  1. Combine all ingredients in a small sauce pan. 
  2. Turn on the heat and simmer for 30 minutes. 
  3. Serve in mugs and garnish with an orange wedge and a star anise.
